James Anthony Jackson Sr. “Jack” was called home to be with the Lord on July 23, 2018. Jack had a blessed life and lived to 77 years of age. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, July 6, 1941 to Richard and Mildred Jackson.
Jack was seen as a quiet and reserved man, but for those that knew him saw him for who he truly was a kind, big hearted man. He graduated from West Oso High School, home of the “Bears”. Jack served our country for 20 years in the United States Air Force, retired and later became a trucker for Kinetic Concepts Inc. where he transported hospital beds across the country. He attended St Rose of Lima Catholic Church here in San Antonio. Jack was about his clean car(s) and his pressed clothes and shined shoes. A father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was dearly loved and will be truly missed. He cherished his days with sitting on his front porch, watching old Western movies/TV shows and being with the ones he loved most: family and friends, barbecuing, a die-hearted Dallas Cowboy/San Antonio Spurs fan and sipping his gin/beer.
Jack aka Papa Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife Janie of 47 years. His six children: Yvonne “Cookie”, Tonja “Candy”, Shun, Ramona, Debra, James, Jr. “Skip”. His daughters in law Jessica and Tawanda; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. As well as a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends too numerous to name.
