Born January 5th, 1943 to Jesse and Macon Mitchell in the Wheatley Courts Apartments. Her early childhood years were spent on the East side of San Antonio. Her father was a cook and her mother a maid. Her parents moved away from the Wheatley Courts into a home on the East side.
She attended Booker T. Washington and St. Peter. At the age of 12, she met her soon to be husband Bennie Watson. In 1958, she married Bennie Watson and gave birth to a daughter. Hallie went on to travel with her husband who had joined the Army for many years until their marriage ended.
Hallie went on to work diligently in food service and in the medical field as a C.N. A. She always worked to provide for her daughter, never compromising her needs. Hallie loved her family and would look forward to going to her sister's house on the weekend to listen to music and enjoy the family. Hallie loved her sister Katie they would regularly talk for hours at a time on the phone.
In 1991, she married her current husband Charles Matthew who for the last years of her life stood by her side and took care of her when she became ill.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Charles Matthew; her brother, Paul Blackwell; daughter, Sheila (David) Meadows; step daughter, Patricia Matthew; son, Jarion(Cassie) Clack, baby Asher Clack, son-Marion Clack III, son-Aiden Garza; Grandchildren: Nichole Hosein and Andre' Moncivais; Great granddaughter, Corina Hosein and a host of other relatives.
