GLORIA SMITH

Gloria Ann Norman Smith was born to Bernard Joe Norman Sr. and Rosa Lee Norman on January 28, 1947 in Oakdale, Louisiana. She attended public schools of Allen Parish and was a graduate of Allen High School in 1964.

She was united in holy matrimony to William H. Smith on June 21, 1964. This union was blessed with two daughters.

Gloria accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age at Greater Hayes A.M.E. Church of Oakdale. She was employed with the US Air Force, Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX as a computer systems analyst where she retired after 25 years. In her leisure, she enjoyed gardening, sewing, arts and crafts, helping others and spending time with her family.

Gloria departed this life on January 14, 2019.  She is preceded in death by her loving parents Bernard Joe Norman Sr., Rose Lee Norman and sister, Francis Joyce Norman Baziel.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband of 55 years, Master Sergeant William H. Smith; two daughters, Angelia Brown (Adrian), Bridgetta Smith-Burton (Larry, Jr.); four sisters, Doris Madere, Bernadine Garner, Jean C. Botley (Calvin) and Judy Nunnery; one brother, Bernard Joe Norman Jr.; one granddaughter, LaTasha Westbrook; two great grandchildren, Jamaal Westbrook Allen and Jairus Moses and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
