EVA BENNETT Obituary

Mrs. Eva Mae Bennett passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the age of 96. Eva was born to M.E. and Alice North on May 30, 1923 in Hallettsville Texas. Eva was the second oldest child of sixteen children.

She married the late Carl Bennett on November 10, 1939. During their union Carl and Eva had 6 children. Eva accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church. She enjoyed volunteering her time in the church's kitchen, and being around her children and family. She took pride in the presentation of her home which family and friends gathered for holidays. Eva loved playing dominos with her sons and friends. When she was not enjoying her family, her passion was being in her yard attending to her astounding garden.

Eva leaves to cherish her loving memories with her four children: Mack Bennett (Alice), Jack Bennett, Joyce E. Yancey and Carletta McCollough (Bryon); one sister Doris Edwards of New Berry, FL; seven grandchildren Tara Bennett, Eric Bennett, Derrick Flowers, Evangela Booker (Alfred), Marlon Bennett, Joel Scott (Sparkle), Antoinette Johnson (Travis); twenty-two great grandchildren; fifteen great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her two daughters Brenda Williams and Carolyn Bennett; one granddaughter Bridget Bennett; one great grandson Carl Bennett; her parents, Alice & M. E North; husband Carl Bennett; eight brothers and five sisters, Julius, Ishmael, Albert, Habbert, Prock MT, Ben, Don, Betty, Alice, Hazel, Arline, Penny, and Louise.

The family would like to express special thanks to Edna Barnes for being a dedicated caregiver for Eva.
