Ella Bernice Gibson went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 3:15 in the morning. She was born October 29, 1927, in Bryant Texas to Johnnie Waldon and Annie Lee Lours. She was the oldest of six children. She accepted the Lord as her personal savior and attended Antioch Baptist Church for many years.
She later met her husband Everett Ray Gibson, Sr. who she married in Seattle, Washington on December 14, 1951. To this Union seven children were born. Ella was a loving wife and caring mother. She always put the needs of her children above her own needs. Her husband served in the United States Army where they traveled around the world until his retirement.
Ella worked as the Manager of the Food Service Department for Northside Independent School District and retired with 25 years of faithful and dedicated service. She later moved into a retirement home where she loved playing bingo three times a week; she really enjoyed beating the other residents at the game.
Mrs. Gibson will be greatly missed by her entire family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Ray Gibson with 34 years of marriage, her parents, and daughter Renee Gibson Zertuche. She leaves to mourn her siblings, and her children: Everett Ray Gibson, Jr. Rochelle Bernice Gibson, Gregory Renard Gibson, Veronica Jean Gibson, Bruce Dwayne Gibson, and Keith Leon Gibson, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
