Mrs. Darceil Williams blessed us with her love and complete presence for 79 years. She is now with her lord and savior, where she spiritually breaths deeply, walks easily, and knows how much we cherish our dear memories of her.
Darceil was born on July 23, 1940, in Waelder, TX. She was the third of eight joyous children, born to Mr. F.G. Mitchell and Mrs. Alpha Mitchell. When Darceil was very young, her family initially moved to Corpus Christi and then finally to San Antonio where she and her siblings all graduated from high school.
Darceil married Eddie J. Williams on August 28th, 1959. Together they actively raised two sons, Kenneth “Kenny” Williams and Eddie L. Williams. The marriage was a true partnership that supported Darceil’s expert and focused work ethic. Specifically, she ultimately worked at Allstate Insurance where her roles included being a secretary, claims supervisor, unit manager, and claims analyst. While a claims analyst, Darceil traveled to multiple communities across our nation to help many people who had been devastated by catastrophic storms. Darceil retired from Allstate after a broad and meaningful 28-year career.
Darceil is preceded in death by her dear parents, as well as her siblings Alfred, Marvene, Carolyn, and Bennie. She is survived by her dear husband, Eddie J. and her remaining siblings, Harold, Sandra and Terena. She is also survived by her first son, Kenny; daughter-in-law, Suzel; and grandchildren, Wesley, Langston, and Maya. She is additionally survived by her second son, Eddie L., daughter-in-law, Paula; and grandchildren, Kristina and her husband George; and Kourtney. Darceil’s loved ones further extend to numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
We all feel so fortunate to have had Darceil in our lives. While we truly wish we could have held onto her much longer, her gentle demeanor, deep wisdom, and sincerity will warm our hearts and memories in the days, months, and years to come.
