Carolyn Joyce Coleman Wilson was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 2, 1952 to Mr. Harvey Clarence Coleman, Sr. and Mrs. Daisy Mae Coleman. She grew up on the eastside of San Antonio and lived in several different neighborhoods. Along the way she has made MANY, MANY friends.
She attended school at Douglas and Brackenridge in the San Antonio area. She was briefly married to Mack Wilson in San Antonio, TX.
Carolyn was known to many as Joyce and CJ. She lived a full life and made lifelong friends. People often talked about her caring ways and if you needed something and she had it, it was yours as well. She was a very good cook and when she cooked it was guaranteed to be delicious and she would feed you as long as there was food to eat. She loved to play dominoes and cards (Pitty Pat) and was a fierce competitor. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, especially Tammy and Terri. She was affectionately called Caro, Moms, and Granny, My Baby, Aunt Joyce, and Aunt Carolyn.
Preceding her in victory is her mother, Daisy Mae Coleman, father Harvey C. Coleman Sr., brother Joe Dawson, brother Robert Dawson, brother Coy Dawson and her niece Ramiya Dawson.
She has crossed the finishing line and from her vantage point she is cheering for her life partner John DeWayne Bailey, her daughter and son-in-law, Deena and Milton Ford, and her grandson Frank Jared Ford, other special grands, Dominic, Janetta (Arlington, TX) and Mikey, one sister Daisy E. Foster, one brother Harvey C. Coleman, Jr. all of San Antonio, TX., and all of her nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
