Charles McKinney was born on August 27, 1932 to Mr. Carlton McKinney Sr and Zenobia Turner McKinney in Guadalupe County TX. He grew up into a hardworking young man, attending Ball High School, Seguin TX and later in life obtained his bachelor’s degree from Southwest Texas University, San Marcos TX.
He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age, baptized and continued to develop a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He later met and fell in love with the love of his life, Mildred Anderson in which he married. To this union they were blessed with 5 outstanding children.
Later, he joined Greater Corinth Baptist Church, where he became a Trustee and was in an emeritus status when he passed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred McKinney; parents: Mr. & Mrs. Carlton (Zenobia) McKinney, Sr; brothers: Matthew, Marvin and Clifford McKinney; sisters: Gloria, Betty Lou McKinney, Louise Brown, Lola Nelson & Jollie V Fields.
Charles leaves to cherish his legacy and is survived by his loving children: Charles Jr (Bridget), Stanley (Toni), Steven (Bettye) McKinney; Bessie “Lynn” (Reggie) Rogers; Cathy (Philip) Jones and Wanda Hayden; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brother: Carlton Jr; sisters: May Jewel Clancy and Myrtlene (Curtis) Fields and a host of family, loved ones and friends.
