Bryan Keith Collins was born to Bonita and Clinton Collins, on December 1, 1972. He was raised in San Antonio and Dallas, Texas, with his two brothers, Michael and Gregory Collins.
He was baptized at a young age, and became a member of Hosack Avenue Baptist Church.
Bryan attended and graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1991. After graduating, he received a scholarship to the University of Southwestern Louisiana, “Ragin’ Cajuns”, in Lafayette, La. While attending USL, Bryan pledged and became a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Bryan forewent his senior year of college for the 1995 NBA draft; then he signed on overseas, where he played basketball in several countries. He later returned to San Antonio and tried out for the Spurs.
While attending USL, Bryan met Keyada Robinson. They were united in marriage in 1996, and were later blessed with three daughters, Keyniah, Kyrie and Kaylen.
Bryan worked as a plumber’s helper and in construction.
Bryan’s years of failing health ended on July 12, 2018, when he went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Bonita Brown; father, Clinton Collins; daughters, Keyniah Robinson of San Antonio, Texas, Lt. Kyrie Collins (USAF), and Kaylen Collins of Baton Rouge, La.; grandmother, Marcie Roberts; two brothers, Michael Collins and his children, Kevin and Brianna; Rev. Gregory Collins and wife Shannan Collins, and their children, Tyler and Giovanni Collins, and a host of family and friends.
