BARBARA O. JAMES

Barbara O. James went to be with the Lord and Savior on March 16, 2019. She was born on March 1, 1946 to the Late Rev. Hamice R. James, Sr. and Mrs. Bettie James. Barbara was the fourth child born to this union. 

Barbara accepted Christ at the age of eight being baptized at Emmanuel Baptist Church by Rev. Hamice R. James. Sr. She served as Administrator to the Pastor, Finance Secretary, Director of the Youth Choir, and Member of the Mission. 

Barbara received her formal education from schools in the San Antonio Independent School District system. Barbara pursued higher education earning a Bachelor and Master Degrees. 

 Barbara was united in holy matrimony on July19, 1962 to Clarence Miles, Jr. they had a child, Clarence Miles, III. to this union. 

Barbara was employed at Southwest Research Institute for 41 years. She also taught classes in the Alamo Community College system. 

Barbara was preceded in death by her son Clarence Miles, Jr. parents, Hamice Sr. and Bettie James; brothers, Nathaniel James and Hamice James. 

Barbara leaves to memories her grandson. Clarence Miles, III; granddaughter, Aaliyah Miles; great grandson, Justice James Miles; sister, Virlee Bibbs, sister-in law, Betty James, and a host of relatives and friends all of San Antonio and abroad.
