Mr. Andre Emil Watson, a.k.a. “Sir Cowboy,” was born on August 1, 1962, son of the late Elder Edward E. Watson and District Missionary Addie M. Watson of San Antonio, Texas.
Andre attended Pickering Middle School in Leesville, LA, where he was the Drum Major. He graduated from Frankfurt High School in Germany. In his early life, he was passionate about selling cars, and was a top salesman. He acquired another passion in life for cooking. As an entrepreneur, he purchased a food truck known as the “Cravin Cajun” and was an icon in the streets of San Antonio. Andre was well known throughout the community and from the Westside to the Eastside, people would come looking for the “Chicken-man” or Sir Cowboy for his beloved signature dishes.
Andre cherished every moment spent with his family. His devotion and love for them was boundless and unconditional. His smile, laughter, words of encouragement and wisdom were a testament to his love for his children and the community. Andre's passion for music was infectious, often filling the air with his singing, whether in church, beating the tambourine, or near his food truck.
Andre departed this life unexpectedly on Thursday, March 21, 2024. He is preceded in death, by his father, Elder Edward E. Watson, his sister Angela Williams, and his nephew (Big Dez) Desmond Washington.
